I was thinking more like MGSV. Blow someone’s hand off and you’re a sadist, blow their brains out and you’re a killer, tranquilize them (not realistic I know) and you are merciful, stealth past them and you’re a ninja. Maiming people could reduce troop morale but also have an effect on the player-character and their allies.

Could be all kinds of reasons for the anatomy part. Coolness for one 😎
