I’m trying to stop using Reddit, but it having an app I know about makes it have quite an advantage.
I know there’s a few apps out there I can use to browse Lemmy, but I’m not sure about their names and the different features they offer.

I love Jerboa, but can’t right now because
lemmy.worlddoesn’t support the latest update. Currently using Liftoff for the meantime.I’m browsing lemmy.world with Jerboa right now, I just get a warning that this instance is using an older version and to tell the admin to upgrade.
Mine was doing that, be careful once I got signed out its not letting me sign back in
I’ve noticed today that I can’t sort by anything other than “local/active” in jerboa.
My phone updated last night, so maybe it’s related to that?
But it’s super annoying, as it makes it impossible to see new content.
Yep, the last update borked Jerboa pretty good in the exact manner you described. I’m here looking for an alternative.
I think you might be able to manually change it after you open the app. I have the same issue, and my server seems like updated (I didn’t see the warning).
Nah, the “default” stuff never worked for me. It’s always booted into the local/active. I’ve had to manually switch it since I’ve gotten the app.
As of today though I can’t even do that. When I try to manually switch, it does it for about a second, then insta flips back. :/
Yeah, you need to subscribe to some of the ‘subreddits’ on fediverse. At least that’s been my experience. Otherwise you will not get suggested communities.
Nah, I mean, I’m subscribed to a lot. My issue is that I can’t switch from “Local” to “All” or from “Active” to “Hot” or “New.” That feature stopped working for me this morning.
My issue with Jerboa was the initial experience. Hiding away how to log in made me feel the Dev doesn’t care about making it easy to use.
Feel like I’m an idiot - I don’t see Liftoff in the Google life play store. But I have downloaded Connect to use over Jerboa (due to the server update mismatch). Not sure which one I like better at the moment, but Connect does have more options for personalization.

Same here. Thought it was fine, despite warning. But definitely not, Jerboa randomly crashes every few minutes.
There will need to be a Lemmy update (with captcha support) before Lemmy.world will update (to prevent bots). Should happen this week. Will try Connect now, thanks to tips here.
