    Wait there are beavers in Mexico? I thought they didn’t even come below Michigan

      They were also introduced to Argentina and Chile

          Probably. The idea was they could be used to start a local fur trade. Turns out the quality of furs is closely tied to how cold it gets. And South American beavers don’t have as thick of furs. So the furs weren’t worth much and that fur trade never caught on.
