Timeless is a new non-rotating, Constructed format where every card on MTG Arena is legal. This includes digital-only cards, the upcoming Khans of Tarkir set release, and any future set releases. Timeless will use the re-balanced versions of all digital-only cards, but the original tabletop printings of all non-digital cards.

Timeless will be the first format on MTG Arena to have a restricted list. If a card is on the restricted list, only a single copy of that card may be included in your deck and sideboard. Cards will have to earn their place on the banned and restricted list, and only those cards that have proven to be negative fun or far too powerful will be added.

The initial restricted list for Timeless includes only the following three cards:

  • Channel
  • Demonic Tutor
  • Tibalt’s Trickery

I feel like a scrooge but I just can’t get into digital only cards, or any format that includes them.

Seems like a cool format for the less curmudgeony players out there.

I just dislike the random hearthstone-like effects. Just let me play the game the way i do in paper again.

Some of the cards and mechanics are genuinely cool and allow mechanics that would be too hard to keep track of in paper. Unfortunately however there too many of them that are terribly designed or overly random and ruin it for me as a whole. I stopped playing mtg arena the day alchemy released since Historic and Historic Brawl were the only formats I played there

Same. I don’t foresee myself playing much Timeless, but I’m happy for the players who do like this sort of thing.

I get you, I feel exactly the same. I really enjoy being able to buy a deck and actually own it.
