The White House said Monday that the U.S. may establish a naval task force to escort commercial ships in the Red Sea, a day after three vessels were struck by missiles fired by Iranian-back Houthis in Yemen.

National security adviser Jake Sullivan said the U.S. has been in active conversations with allies about setting up the escorts though nothing is finalized, describing it as a “natural” response to that sort of incident.

On Sunday, ballistic missiles fired by Yemen’s Houthi rebels struck three commercial ships, while a U.S. warship shot down three drones in self-defense during an hourslong assault, the U.S. military said. It marked an escalation in a series of maritime attacks in the Mideast linked to the Israel-Hamas war.

Do people committing genocide often allow time for civilians to leave an area before assaulting it?

Seems really inefficient if the goal is genocide.

Yeah, I mean forcibly displacing people under threat of assault is a common theme with genocide. See e.g. the trail of tears, the armenian genocide, the holocaust.

I forgot about the Jews launching rockets at those poor Nazis. What choice did they have, y’know?

Am I to understand that indiscriminate firing of rockets into purely civilian areas is “fighting back” and is justified in your opinion?

Yeah exactly. It’s not genocide if you let them grab a backpack of stuff first. Anyone can survive forever with what they can carry.

In fact, I think you should try it. It’s quite freeing.

Israel was the party that denied the extension not Hamas. Get your facts straight.

Do you mean war? If yes, then HAMAS can stop it by releasing all hostages

No I mean the genocide. War implies that there isn’t a massive power imbalance where one side has a standing army and the other has to improvise weaponry in order to not be genocided.

Stopping this genocide is all on Israel. Ending the Apartheid is on Israel. I am not going to fault the oppressed indigenous people for fighting back against settler-colonialism.

Ok so then every Israeli who’s family descends from the folks who stayed when the Romans said they couldn’t live in the pretty city anymore can stay, and everyone else who descends from the ones that fucked off to Europe Africa and Central Asia over it can quit trying to colonize what they gave up on centuries ago.

And nah, they don’t get to “but the Holocaust!” that one when holocaust survivor families in Israel are subjected to having their languages demeaned, being left in abject poverty, and being slurred on as Soap because Israel is not the defender of the Jews, it’s the bin privileged folks fuck off to because they’re rich enough to literally uproot and move to a new country entirely while the folks that are left behind get to relocate there after they survive some atrocity or another that Israel does jack shit to help with because actually protecting Jews internationally doesn’t incentivize them to come help take more land held for generations by Palestinians who are in all but language and faith the exact same people that have lived there since history has borne witness.

Barbaric religious theocracy, tomorrow the Jews will literally start celebrating that one time a band of fundamentalist iconoclastic terrorists took it upon themselves to go out and massacre the other Jews for not being Jewish enough, but don’t worry it’s fine because it’s selucid’s fault they had to murder all these Jews that were voluntarily practicing Judaism in a way we didn’t like! Much to the dead people’s comfort I’m sure.

For the supposed defender of the Jews it sure seems to me that the Zionists are the ones worshipping and helping perpetuate the persecution of the Jews, they ban historical Jewish languages, condemn holocaust survivors to abject poverty, slur on them by calling them soap, and are a major source of political donations for right wing antisemites in the west, y’know, those guys that make Jews outside of Israel really worry that folks are forgetting that whole “never again” thing.

Margie “Jewish Space Lasers” Taylor Greene won her house race with funding provided to the RNC by major billionaire Israelis who should really be more worried about where their money’s being spent for all the howling Zionists do about just how worried they are about the rise of antisemitism.

The Palestinians literally just want to be able to go to the hospital without being blown up for it, or literally even just exist in the evac zones Israel itself told them to go to without being blown up for it.
