They’re in power because while the Democrats are a fully formed turd, the Republicans are blood streaked diarrhea, and given the two options and literally nothing else thanks to first past the post and gerrymandering of voting districts, most people will indeed vote for the turd even if that’s not what they actually want out of the government.
