I have fiddled with Nix for some time (because of some Docker shenanigans) and there is some… weird stuff going on with it. Like nix-env not behaving the way it should and some flags that does not do what it is meant to do. And that is not a “Your problem” thing – other users have reported the same kind of/similar issues.
