(Voyager 1.29.0, iOS, iPhone SE2)

Despite setting the app to sort by Hot, re-applying said setting, and manually sorting by Hot, the sort always changes back to Active once I leave and re-enter a feed.

This just started happening with the latest iOS update.

Edit: Problem resolved itself after re-applying the setting over and over. Probably not an actual bug.

Just to double check, did you change the comment default sort? There’s two default sorts in settings, one for posts and one for comments.

Once you double check you’re adjusting post default sort, try changing default in settings to “top 6 Hours” and restart the app and let me know if it is reverting to active. Thank you!🙏

I was really confused at first because I didn’t know comment sorting had that many options. “Top 6 Hours” is only available for comments for me. Is it suppose to be available for posts as well?

So, I changed BOTH post and comment sorting to New then both back to Hot, NOW the feeds are sorting by Hot on their own.

Just to be clear, was there only comment sorting in the setting a before? It feels like the update took whatever the setting for comments and applied it to posts instead of using the existing state.

“Top 6 Hours” is for posts only.

There has always been an option to set default comment sort, but not default post sort. Previously, post sort defaulted to whatever you last set it to, instead of using a value specified in Settings.

So recently I’ve added a default sort for posts. See screenshot, hopefully that helps. Let me know if you’re still encountering any weird behavior. :)

Yeah, I understand the change. Whatever the issue was with my app, it’s gone now.

I guess my update got gummed up with old stuff stuck in the cache or something. Even though I force-quit Voyager while troubleshooting the setting wouldn’t take at first.

(Sorry I can’t post images to show you what I was looking at, I picked the worst instance for uploading media.)

Interesting. I’ll keep my eye out for any other reports. Thanks!
