I’m really surprised they let Acosta off on that long lap penalty, there’s no way he didn’t cross into the green on that. Same old same old with the stewards though, super inconsistent.

I would love to see a close up slow mo of the lap to see if there is some tyre of his still on track, but I would be surprised. From the heli shot it looked so far into the green!
Good point about the original penalty, that ‘drop 1 second’ is not something you can expect a rider to do reliably. Same thing happened to Binder last race I think, the whole system needs to be re-thought
‘Give back any advantage’ is a good wording in my opinion. It leaves a bit of wiggle room for interpretation whilst still being very clear about any obligations.
