Welcome to the community! Pixel Dungeon is an open source rogue-like. There are a number of mods (more like forks, imo) with Shattered Pixel Dungeon (ShPD in the original post) being one of the most popular.
The game is free and ad-free on Android - the only payment option is a donation to the developer. I think there is a purchase fee for iPhone or Steam, though you could compile it yourself for a free PC version. Definitely consider supporting the developers once you get hooked.
