to be where the people are?

I love the idea of our little corner of the Internet, but it doesn’t have the content or the users of the incumbents.

Conceptually I get what you’re saying, but I’ve never used Twitter and I dropped Reddit in July cold turkey.

I have had no issues being where the people are just sticking to the Fediverse.

I don’t feel like I’ve missed anything. I did pick up Mastodon, but that’s just lurking. I picked up a few news apps to fill in a blank or two, but those usually end up on Lemmy anyway.

Welcome to the consequences of driving away competent moderation…

Trump and more generally Conservative bashing has been blaring out of Reddit at top volume since the 2016 elections and every election cycle they find new ways to make it even louder and more obnoxious. This year’s moderator exodus really had nothing to do with it. Yes Trump and many Conservatives should be beamed directly to a secret underground moon base and held incommunicado until their natural deaths but the fact that the conversation can’t ever be shifted to anything else is so tiring.

Well what you described isn’t too different here… except there is more hardcore tankies here

I love Lemmy users bashing on Reddit as if Lemmy is any better. Both are pretty authoritarian left. Though I don’t have enough experience here to speak to the moderation, but given time I’m sure it’ll be just as bad.

      Also because it’s convenient.
