You need to remove the part of the brain that’s in charge of ensuring that a sentence actually conveys some meaning. Even if you’re lying the lie should at least be moderately believable in the sense that it’s comprehensible by people who haven’t had 30 whiskey sours.
It’s scary because it turns out a lot of people don’t want a person who is well spoken, or thoughtful in their actions, or able to compromise as their nation’s leader. They want someone who’s loud, says anything that pops into their head, and is willing to act completely and utterly on impulse.
