    The DMCA and the patriot act should have been enough to get people off their asses and taking action. Unfortunately, Americans don’t give a flying fuck about their privacy. What I really love is that all your online bullshit affects me too and I’m not an American citizen nor doninliv there.

      Hate to tell you this, but the US is the closest to an actual international government we have. If you want something enforced that doesn’t involve them good luck.

      And even worse news, no one else currently has the capacity to really enforce anything on them. EU comes close with corporate requirements within their borders.

      The basis of power is unilateral force and always has been. It used to be the British Empire or France or Rome.

      Guess what this isn’t exactly comfortable in the US either. We’ve been freaking out for nearly 80 years.

        Kinda off the subject of privacy and secret policing narrowly, but just wait until Trump, and his 50,000 Project 2025 loyalists take the reigns.

        That’s going to be interesting to see.
