Just recently got this Hifi Walker H2 and so far I like it. Stock UI was trash but Rockbox solved that issue. At first I was skeptical of needing a dap with how good phones are these days but I’m satisfied. This thing sounds so good and is powerful enough to make my 6XX sing. Plus the customization of rockbox really appeals to my tinkering side.
So what do you guys think about DAPs? Do you prefer one to other music solutions or do you not see the appeal?
I want a high res player pretty badly, honestly. I hate that video formats get crisper, and bigger and brighter but audio get’s mp3s and air pods. Like why aren’t we adopting high res all around?
The adoption of Hi-Res tracks on mainstream streaming services is a good sign at least. But from what I’ve read, it all boils down to people having a harder time recognizing higher quality audio. It’s easy to see the difference between an sd video and a 1080p one. Many people don’t get exposed to good headphones and speakers either. You can’t recognize a difference if you never hear it. Ignorance is bliss as they say.
