Sorry we didn’t get a check-in last week, I got covid :(
Anyway, let’s check in with each other. What’s good, what’s bad, what’s ugly?
Talk about bipolar or anything else - this is a free for all!

About mental health, familiy never helps, I have some real close friends, and none of them have a family that does not worsened their mental health, this is sad, but I gave up my family helping me just to keep that bound with a past that I like.
I know you probably heard that a lot but therapy is the better place to try put your shit together mainly cause it is a person that does not know you trying to help. Family and friends will always see you by the lens of what they see and not actually you or what you say.

That’s terrible! I hear stories like that often, where people try to get help and are met with great challenges and obstacles. All I can say is, keep trying. Good therapy is so worth it, but I will fully acknowledge it’s hard to find.
Based on what you wrote about parts in your original comment, I think you’d really like Internal Family Systems therapy. There is a great book on it called No Bad Parts by Dick Schwartz. I think you’d enjoy it.

I’m Glad My Mom Died helped 2 of my clients come to terms with their own less-than-ideal mothers. It’s a great book. And I’ll have to check out the other one, thanks!
