    but “iT TaStES bItTeR”

And a lot of that is trying to brew the crappiest coffee the big box store carries through meh brewers. Coffee can be so much better with a little bit of experimenting and buying products that give you an experience you enjoy vs whatever ends up in the cup.

Yep. Like many things; the more bad quality is avoided, the more bad experience is avoided. Not to mention the irony of finding coffee beans you like, grinding them, and brewing in a style you like is generally on par or cheaper than low quality coffee ready to go but marketed as “affordable”. And the flavour difference is astronomical.

When I camp with others, I pick nice flavour beans that are smooth and low on bitterness, so every coffee drinker will like them. I grind up about $3 worth (3-4 people for a few days), seal, and go camping. I “cowboy brew”—which is basically Turkish brew—by boiling a pot until water is rolling, pour in coffee, 2 mins later pull off heat, 3 mins later after bloom is done, serve. Literally boil, pour, wait, drink. I get praised for amazing coffee and I didn’t do shit. It’s just some good beans with a relaxed flavour profile and it costs fuck all.

Ain’t no one sit back with an energy drink, sip, and go “Ahhh. That’s lovely energy drink.”
