    Why are there no sharks that walk. They have been around for hundreds of millions more than bats.

      Perfectly efficient killing machine needs no legs. Until we destroy their food source and they come for us.

        Exactly that is why bats are not flightless. They have had no pressure to leave their niche or opportunity enticing them away. They are still at their local evolutionary maximum.
