5,000-year-old rock art depicting the oldest nativity scene ever found has been found in Egypt’s Sahara Desert: A newborn between parents, two animals, and a star in the east.

Reminiscent of the Bible’s account of Jesus’s birth, the prehistoric painting predates the biblical account by around 3,000 years.

    It’s not exactly a particularly unique scene is it? Is there any indication there was some kind of deification of any of the figures in the painting?

    I just don’t agree with the focus on tying the two together. It seems like a very weak, high-school level atheistic take. There’s more substantial things we can gain from these ancient paintings, and much more substantiated ways of making the argument this article title is trying to make.

      It does seem a bit of a stretch. I don’t think we can assign such context from that picture. Maybe the artist accidentally dropped a bit of blood on the picture and lo, it’s a star!
