I don’t think it’s that complex, honestly. I think they’re just bootlickers, and Russia, being an authoritarian oligarchy, is the natural ally of ‘conservatives’ in America.
We already know he’s right though
Russia hacked both the DNC and RNC email servers. They released the DNC emails, which is how the whole email server became a thing for Hillary, and she had to deal with accusations of satanic ritual recipes or whatever.
They did not release the RNC emails.
Instead, several of republican senators went to Moscow on July 4th.
Shortly after that, we had the leaked tape of Paul Ryan trying to shush other republicans who were talking about which of their colleagues were on Putin’s payroll.
You’re not wrong that some of them are bootlickers, but it isn’t an either/or proposition. These people are fascists who believe that might makes right. Russia has shit on them, and therefore the natural order is for them to kowtow until they are ascendant and will do the same to others. This is what they have told us time and again that their worldview is.
Oh yeah, I definitely believe that at least some of the GOP has compromat leveraged on them. But the Rep’s talk about “Why in the world would good conservatives do this?” misses that ‘good conservatives’ love the kind of authoritarian shit that Russia gets up to.
