And yet we persisted. There’s nothing like having your existence legislated, debated, and lied about. This countries march towards facism has to be stopped at the polls, please vote.

LGBTQ+ are survivors. We deal with so much and never stop fighting.

also like, yeah people are more actively fighting against us now, but we already broke through the hardest step with federal recognition. There was a time when assaulting a gay man wouldn’t have even been considered a hate crime. If these conservatives think they can stop love with petty shit like banning books and drag performances, they clearly have no idea about all the shit we already waded through to get here.

      “Please vote.”

What a meek and placid response to queer genocide.

Fuck just voting. No one is coming to save us. We have to protect each other. Reach out to other queer people and build community. Practice mutual aid and community self defence. Help queer people who are struggling. Provide accomodation to those who need it. Research and keep track of fascists in your area. Take action against them. Teach each other self defence. Arm yourselves.

Republicans want to outright murder us. Democrats will let it happen while waving rainbow flags. There’s no one you can vote for who will actually help.

I agree. Voting is definitely important but if you live in an area like I do, there’s frequently not an option that isn’t some Christian-nationalist to even vote for. It’s important that we learn to protect ourselves because if these people get their way, they will criminalize our existence - they are already doing it to trans people. They need to be called out for what they are doing loudly and frequently. The current speaker of the house is one of the most extreme anti-lgbtq+ politicians we’ve had in a long time and he’s third in line to the presidency. This has to stop and it’s only going to happen if people keep talking about it and spreading the word about what these fuckers are doing.
