I was wondering how the wider RPG community found games nowadays. Do you reach out to your non-RPG friends? Go to your FLGS? Use online RPG groups? Something else?

I recently moved to a new city that had a very small ttrpg presence. So here is my advice:
Check local Facebook groups. Yes, I know, Facebook is terrible. I agree there. However, I still think it is a great resource. Try finding a D&D groups that specifically is for your state. If you are lucky your county or city might have one too. If there is a FLGS, try posting on their page if they have one.
Check if there are any discord groups for your state or area. This is probably the easiest way to find players in my opinion. I have had less flake outs from discord but your milage may vary.
Lastly, try your local library. Some libraries will have groups already going and even rulebooks you can borrow. If they don’t already have a group ask the librarian if there is anyway you could start an open group.
