I thought I replied but I guess it never told me it didn’t send (lemmy is really buggy).

Basically all cons I would say. The only benefit is that I can write guides immediately to help out Mastodon Instance operators who are running into these same issues over and over like “too many files used” because the “spec” Mastodon web-client is bloated and I’m really not trying to be mean or conceded or start drama but poorly written and designed.

So I have immediate simple things these instance operators can do to lower their hosting bills, support more uses, and ideally become more financially sustainable.

I am going to write my own soon as I have time so it has all my own features, doesn’t have a tiered system to pay for features, and supports everything I need for legitimate looking grey-literature articles.

I had a very hard teacher for 2 semesters who would have us write scientific papers like every 2 days, and the mistakes me made on the previous ones we had to correct, so it snowballed for a whole year; he was super nice normally but so critical and hard on us (was like 4 students in the class). But I really appreciate it because it left me with the skills that I feel confident I could write an academic paper. And I never felt comfortable with academia, and I don’t like the whole “white paper” engineering style thats popular now.

Since I’m planning on breaking up shehackedyou.com I plan on offering this to other people and allow them to submit their articles and maybe create a grey-literature journal, only epubs but if it comes together it is a plan I have had for a while.
