A teacher was busted for allegedly sexually abusing her 13-year-old student, reportedly having sex with him at least 12 times, sending him money via CashApp and having a pregnancy scare.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Laredo Morning Times in Texas, Adriana Mariel Rullan, 27, had “sexual intercourse/sexual contact” with the student a dozen times, including at a middle school in the United Independent School District.

It’s due to libel laws. Publications don’t want to get sued for alleging something before conviction. They’d be out of business if they called it rape.

It’s easy enough to call it “alleged rape”, like they do for alleged male rapists.

I get we never want to make light of those who have been victims of rape but I do understand not wanting to touch it. It has an extreme pubic connotation and all it takes is one mistake “alleged” or not and the accused has a case for damages to reputation

I’m not saying it’s how it should be but until our laws change it’s the only option

That doesn’t work when the word doesn’t mean from a female to a male unfortunately though.
