Have they said what ways they intend to utilize AI?
In most cases i can think of an AI would be very inefficient to traditional methods with nearly the same impact to the experience, unless you are talking about having the AI control characters and dialogue? If they haven’t said how they are going to use it, then save to say they have no idea what they are talking about.
Well AI could be used to generate new assets or terrain on the fly. We’ve already proven that with things like Minecraft, No Mans Sky, and Elite Dangerous a decade ago. Give a “seed” to an algorithm that can use those rules to design how the world fits together, and then turn it loose.
As for NPC’s yes there’s the obvious use case of just having them hooked up to an LLM and they could respond to you live in game, but the real golden nugget here is using it to develop the assets quickly so that time can be spent on creating more immersive worlds with better quests and narratives designing more ways to get you to spend your money on cosmetics.
