Agreed. But he wasn’t “almost beaten to death.” He wasn’t beaten at all. Spreading easily refutable misinformation only serves the conservative hate machine.
The majority of the conservative experience is being fed propaganda and believing lies.
It’s not like lies from the other side would somehow make them worse, at worst it entrenches some of them, but guess what, they were entrenched already.

Intellectual honesty would be more of a concern if conservatives had any at all, but someone’s got to do it I guess.
