#Yarnuary prompt: who taught you how to #FiberCraft ?
My mom taught me when I was 6 or 7 or so. I remember not understanding how to turn a round, so my mom had to flip my coaster for me. 😂 Then I dropped it for years.
I didn’t really start knitting seriously until college. That was before I was diagnosed with #ADHD, so all I knew was I concentrated better in class when I had my hands busy working on hats. Been knitting ever since!
I, too, was taught as a child by my mother. My mom was a phenomenal knitter, always getting blue ribbons at the county fairs. I never got beyond scarves, but my dad still uses one I made for him 40 years ago! I don’t knit now, but I taught my daughter. I didn’t have much to offer, but it was enough that she caught the knitting bug. She’s the best knitter I’ve met, doing amazingly complicated patterns (think: Pompom magazine). I am so happy that I was able to pass on the knitting bug to a third generation, even if it basically skipped mine!
