Based on what we’ve heard from Red Bull he’s off the pace in the sim as well. I think it’s just the fact Red Bull aren’t confident in his ability yet. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to throw him in the car with no practice in a real car for quite awhile compared to Yuki and Lawson as well.

But (alledgedly) the reason he turned down the options with too little pay, is that they had to beat the amount that McLaren was paying him not to race. Agree, he wouldn’t be the first choice regardless
