NYT daily: I do not get what the all caps clues are trying to convey.
Yeah I was clueless for the longest time as well. Had to look it up.
For the clue (C)AR(OL) BR(A)DY, Carol Brady is the name of the mom character in The Brady Brunch. C O L A is underlined making cola, and pop is a synonym for that. Together they make the answer “Mom and Pop”.
Thanks! I think part of the problem is on the app there’s no underline in the clue.
