I feel like a lot of Korra was their backlash to fan criticism.
I bet they’re kind of tired of the avatar universe. Can you blame them? Coming up with a great idea in your early adulthood and then having that define you the rest of your life. Doesn’t seem great from a creative standpoint to me
Tbf, both have had side projects after Korra, but they keep returning to the Avatarverse.
But there surely is a reason why their development for Netflix was so slow and the announced animated movies also take so long to release. Maybe they’re tired, maybe they want to dive deep in development before production starts… idk
