He believes combative journalism is integral to a functional democracy, regularly saying “journalists should be biased, biased towards democracy.” He’s often the only voice of reason amid a toxic cloud of both-sidesy bullshit. There are not two sides to every issue, sometimes there’s just the truth. And he’s not afraid to say it.
