Checo is cracking. I kind of feel for him.

Curious to see who they’re giving the seat to; I don’t think they’ll be promoting Tsunoda.

Agreed. I think Tsunoda is great but throwing him into that RB right now would like what they did to Albon, it would be way too soon.

he’s had two years, albon was almost brand new by comparison

I think Tsunoda isn’t quite there yet, he’s still too rash in certain moments. He has improved a lot, but he still has some way to go before he can get a seat at RBR.

I also genuinely doubt if Checo will be out of the seat. Sure, he’s way behind Max, but that would also be for his replacement (as long as it isn’t Lewis or Fernando, but they won’t sign at RBR I think). RBR is comfortably leading both championships, and they don’t have to manage an intra-team battle. Must be nice being them at the moment.

But if they do replace him, I’m putting my money on Hulkenberg. He was also the other serious centender for the seat when they picked up Perez. He is driving very well in the Haas. He will know his place in the team. And to be honest, I just want to see him on the podium one day…

yeah but a better car would give yuki some confidence

imagine Yuki in RB, Daniel heading AT with Liam as rookie driver

I’d be very surprised if they’d go for Hulkenberg. Checo was always a stopgap until they could get younger talent into the seat. It doesn’t make sense for them to keep rotating in more experienced midfielders. They’ve already got Max for the experience.

But if anything’s on the table… I think Bottas would be a fine pick. He did better at Mercedes than Checo is currently doing at RB.

Problem with Yuki is that this year’s car is pretty shite. You can clearly see that he has improved compared to last year. But during race day the car basically drops in performance once they get past the 2/3 mark. Like either the brakes will turn slippery or the tires are gone.
