Interesting that “hard mode” just means reusing any letters you’ve discovered. I do this anyway since you can’t guess the correct answer without using letters you know to be in the solution.
But I guess an alternative would be to guess a completely different word just to get a go/no-go on more letters quickly?
I guess it makes sense that you could gather more information from a completely new guess in some cases.

Before hardmode, I would guess DAISY and ROUTE so I hit most of the useful letters in the first two guesses.
After hardmode, if the first word hits anything, you can’t do the second word. It really just changes the start for most people.
On the plus side, it means I have a handful of wins in two.
On the minus side, it makes trying to figure out if there’s another vowel a little harder, so I end up with more 5’s and 6’s as well.
In hard mode, you can get boxed in when you know 4 letters, but the fifth one has many options. You can only narrow it down one at a time.
