Forming a union with my coworkers at the immersive arts company Meow Wolf wasn’t easy. It was stressful and scary. But we pushed past that fear — and ended up transforming our lives in the process.
Unionizing changed me a lot too, and for the better. Less than 2 years ago, I was a mostly ignorant liberal. After starting my campaign and learning about solidarity, the history of unions, and so much more, I realized that nothing about capitalism is ok. I think I would have always gone down this path because I’ve been a history nerd my whole life, but diving head first into the labor movement by joining a walkout over sexual harassment changed everything.
