Legit, it’s better here despite the rough edges of an early stage of development. The very thing that makes there be a learning curve filters out the most annoying users, and the culture is fairly anti-asshole overall, so there’s less toxicity overall. Not saying it’s perfect, no human endeavor can be. But it’s got the better aspects of reddit with a reduction in the worst parts.
It’s getting better fast, the 0.18.1 Lemmy update coming up is going to be a huge improvement for desktop browser (I’m on an instance running the release candidate and it’s brilliant). That should trickle down to better mobile performance as well.
This is also my first post, feel like crying. Heard about Lenny 3 hours ago, came to this instance after consideration.
