Then they’ll block your road, get out of their fancy car and assault you for hitting that precious car.

I was on a bike path when a car driver cut me while exiting a driveway and I bumped my wheel into his back bumper. Well, he stopped, got out of his car, whined that I didn’t do “my” stop and ended up slapping me twice in the face… because he cut me and I bumped into his car…

So even if you have an old car AND it’s not your fault, they’l still be mad at you for existing and being in their way.

Don’t you know? He’s the main character. NPCs are supposed to move out of his way.

Sounds like a lot of bikers I see blowing through red lights and stop signs. Obey the rules of the road or get on the sidewalk like a normal pedestrian.

I’m the one making the comment and you’re the one assuming I did something wrong because I was on a bicycle? Or is this “a lot” exaggerated and biaised?

Anyway the said rules where I live is that riding on sidewalks is illegal. Cyclists are not pedestrians and should not be mixed with them.

I was legally on a cycle path, had priority, there was no light. I was cut then slapped by the driver making an illegal move, and you’re first thought is to point out that “lots of bikers blow red lights”?! What?

            Cyclists are not pedestrians

Wrong. Going by weight, speed, visibility, protection and turning radius cyclists are much closer to pedestrians than 2 ton vehicles going 35 mph. That’s basic physics.

And it’s not illegal to ride on the sidewalks where I live. Not that legality has any bearing on what is logical. Laws are made up for those who whine the most or have the most money, not what is logical.

Well actually, its usually much safer for a cyclists to keep moving at an intersection like that. It takes far less time for them to clear the intersection than coming to a full dead stop and starting again. I can see and hear everything on approach much better than anyone inside a 2 ton metal box. In some places its perfectly legal for a bicycle to treat stop sighs like a give way.

Getting on the sidewalk often has its own hazards, like the sidewalk randomly ending and starting again for no reason, people, and shop doors.

It is not safer to blow through a 4 way stop with a blind corner at 20 mph. I nearly hit a cyclist because of them doing that.

You know what has hazards? Riding in the road unprotected from 2 ton heavy machinery. You couldn’t pay me to ride in the street when there are sidewalks available.

It’s pure selfishness to demand others be responsible for your safety.

Some drunken redneck rear ended me once then got out and sucker punched me in the head. It wasn’t two seconds later my knee was on his throat. Some people just need some sense beaten into them.
