minus-square@ShadowCatEXElinkEnglish8•1 year agoIt’s possible, but I wouldn’t put it past Apple to ignore the VPN when checking your location. I’d suspect they’d check using more than 1 approach (Internet, GPS, country on your Apple account, etc) to verify your location.

SIM, plane and simple your carrier location is your location.
Not every iOS device uses a SIM card, and not every SIM enabled device uses one. It’s a potential way to verify location, but not a reliable one.
