    Having read the article, he was suffering from bipolar disorder, but apparently he did deliberately run over 6 people with a car, killing one of them

    In modern countries he’d be jailed for life, but let’s face it, there are still a few countries around the world that are stuck in tha dark ages and the death penalty still stands

      In a modern country he should get the help and support he needs, hopefully enough to live a normal life, and if not then he should be kept in a mental health facility where he can be comfortable but not a threat to himself or others

        True, rehabilitation is the modern way. Cruel capital punishment is so medieval

        Imagine if it was done for profit, that’d be the worst thing imaginable!!

          Just a reminder that for profit prisons only house 8% of US inmates.

          The problem is the prison contracts for public prisons.

              No doubt that the US has major issues with prison populations, but there seems to be this idea that most US prisons are privately owned, which isn’t true.
