In the last battle, his unit neutralized three enemy TU-22 aircraft that bombed Ukraine

To destroy Russian bombers, Ukrainian spies overcame more than 600 kilometers of enemy territory on foot.

Received the important task of – to stop numerous air strikes on peaceful cities in Ukraine. Tasks completed. However, for Oleg Babi – the commander who covered the departure of his own, it turned out to be the last.

The hero of Ukraine, Colonel Oleg Babi, was a spy who had been actively involved in the destruction of Russian occupation troops since the beginning of the war.

From the first days of the large-scale invasion, the Russians organized and carried out special operations in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine and in the enemy’s territory, which in fact changed the course of this war.

In his account - nine successful reconnaissance exits to the enemy’s rear, twelve special measures to organize and ensure resistance movement on the TOT of Ukraine and in the rear of the enemy. Detection of up to 70 important strategic objects of the enemy: command points, military equipment, engineering and fortification equipment, etc. Information about them was used by the Armed Forces to plan TOT release operations and inflict fire damage for important hostile purposes.

Thanks to the successful performance of the tasks by Colonel Babi’s group, it was possible to disorganize the logistics of the occupiers, to destroy its important objects and elements of critical infrastructure. Entire units of the Russian occupation forces lost their combat capability, the system of control of troops and weapons, suffered a breach of communication, and then suffered losses of operability in interaction with their rear.

The last successful task of the Oleg Babiya reconnaissance group is to destroy and decommission three Russian TU-22M3 bombers, significantly violated the plans of the military-political leadership of the rf to inflict missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine and in fact completely destabilized the work of airfields and base points of long-range aviation.

It is obvious that this caused significant economic damage to the aggressor’s country and provoked panic among the local population and the Russian military, because the forces and means of special services were dispersed. And don’t forget another – damage to the image of the so-called « invincibility» army rf and « heroicity» its military-political leadership.

Yes, August 2023. As part of the reconnaissance group, Oleg Babi overcame more than 600 km on foot in the enemy’s territory to perform a special combat task – to stop the terrorist aviation bombing of peaceful Ukrainian cities by Russians.

After trying to reach the deep rear of the enemy, the reconnaissance performed – destroyed the Russian bomber TU-22M3 and two more failed, but themselves suffered irreparable losses. Returning to Ukraine-controlled territory, Colonel Oleg Babi’s reconnaissance group was ambushed and engaged in an unequal battle with Russian invaders.

In this battle, on August 30, 2023, covering the departure of his comrades-in-arms, Ukrainian spy Lieutenant Colonel Oleg Babi was mortally wounded and killed.

For his heroic feat, Oleg Babi was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine with the award of the Order «Golden Star». Posthumously.

Hero has a wife and two young children. The younger daughter was only a year old at the time of her father’s death.
