    A proprietary 4-speed derailleur

    An unusual drivetrain

    This has always been the biggest downside to Bromptons. The parts are so proprietary that you’d need to live close to a dealer (and hope they stay in business!) to even make it a viable option for longevity.

    I’ve run into Brompton owners who’ve waited months for parts that would have been really easy to get on a regular bike.

    That said, most Brompton owners are happy with their decision to get one.

      Plus, Brompton being Brompton, they’ll change the design of that derailleur every 9 months (“For models April 2024 to August 2025”).

      Still love mine, mind you

      They seem pretty nice, but TBH, I’d probably just get a Tern instead because standard parts.
