Did you know that soybean oil is the first cause of deforestation in the Amazon? It’s not a story vegans would tell you though

I didn’t. I thought cattle ranching was the number one cause, and then palm oil second.

This is exactly what I read on two different papers. One of them being this

Not a single mention of soybean oil

Edit: soy is included but still not even close to cattle ranching and the small scale farming also includeds palm oil and sugarcane

Even funnier, is that the economic driving force of the soy industry is soybean meal for animal feeds compared to soybean oil.

Based on the productivities of soybean oil and soybean meal, revenues from soybean oil and soybean meal are ~23% and ~77% respectively. Though the oil expelling process is used to produce oil, the soybean meal is actually the driving force for the whole production system.

          According to https://www.mdpi.com/2077-0472/9/5/87

It makes no sense to grow soybeans on land that was previously a rain forest. Soybeans require loose, well drained soil, basically the opposite of rain forest.

Yeah, “papers”, right. More like “vegan propaganda” because PETA wants to keep making soy burgers for vegans without being held accountable

Honestly I’m more interested in the idea that you would abandon your principles as soon as the state tells you to than any of the trolling you’ve done so far

My dude, are you okay? Like, I get some vegans that have some polarizing opinions, but…hating them shouldn’t be the centerpiece of your personality.

Your entire online presence seems to be entirely made up of video games and hating a lifestyle that isn’t even being forced upon you.

I’m not vegan or strictly vegetarian, I have cut back on a lot of meat, mostly for environmental and dietary concerns. I don’t agree with a lot of the moral framework assumed by a lot of people on this sub. But overall, it’s completely harmless, and actually helps reduce a lot of the negative environmental impact of the meat industry.

Also…“Legality = morality” is complete horseshit. All the worst crimes against humanity were all justified through legal systems .The Holocaust was legal under Nazi laws, chattel slavery was legal in the american south, even the rape of Nanjing was legal according to Japanese imperial law.

Even if this absurd statement was correct, it doesn’t exactly help your argument at all. If Legality = Morality, and being vegan is legal… Wouldn’t that mean veganism = morality?
