I sometimes think the former, though I do not know enough about him to confirm or deny the latter, or if true to know the reasoning why? If you send me a clip that would help inform me, I will watch it and give it full consideration.
I wish you could hear yourself though. Elsewhere just earlier today you said:
snappy retort
See how that doesn’t add anything to the conversation?
Please feel absolutely free to ignore me, and also the haters everywhere, but do not ignore yourself: be the change that you want to see in the world. I wish you peace.:-)
And fair enough. I’ve just had a long day and sometimes I have trouble engaging, but don’t want things said without anyone saying anything. I wanted to say more, but don’t have the energy to try to find out how to say it. Being neurodivergent, that takes a lot out of me and since you looked at my recent comments, I’m at my limit for being dogpiled today.
Jon Stewart has more class, humility, and grace in his ass crack after eating at Arby’s and getting food poisoned and THEN eating at Taco Bell AND Chipotle than Bill Maher has ever displayed on his best day. Bill Maher is the most elitist, snobbiest, pretentious asshole that I have ever heard, at least prior to Trump. I’m hoping it’s a “bit”, which comedians often do, and I give comedians a HUGE amount of slack that I would not a more traditional “news” organization. It’s the ultimate clickbait reactionary trolling, and it’s funny even if also nauseating to watch at the same time.
So if that is what you meant, that much I agree with - I just wanted something recent to link to, as if this issue has not been debated back & forth ad nauseam since before any of us were alive:-), and for some reason most people seem reluctant to put forth such a measured response to the situation? :-P
Thank you very much for the links, I will take a look!
We all get overwhelmed sometimes - please be kind, to yourself most of all bc otherwise how would you find it in you to be so to others as well? :-P
If it helps, there’s a famous quote that I like:
Don’t judge a man by where he is, because you don’t know how far he has come.
It’s similar to that miles in shoes one but I really like this different focus, personally. Other people might be okay today, but they have no idea what I had to go through just to get here.
If you are okay with still yet a third reply, I would like to explain why I see now that you are at least halfway correct, and to thank you for such a respectful conversation to help me see what you did.
For one, I tend to give comedians a HUGE amount of slack - but somehow knowing that he constantly uses the N-word changes everything for me. There is no way that he is merely doing a “bit” for comedic effect, if he is willing to go that far.
That said, I still do think that THIS VIDEO was quite well-made, in digging into the historical nature of the issue. It would be like if Donald Trump put out a video trying to convince people that workers deserved their wages - like… IKR!? yet true, yet what a source to have come from!?
I will add that stating that Muslims want to commit genocide against Jews isn’t in itself “Islamophobic” per se, though while I still have yet to see evidence that he is all the way that, knowing now that he is racist as fuck predisposes me to preemptively agree that that seems likely too.
So this is quite a complex Meta-issue, itself on top of an already quite complex issue:-). Maybe it takes people who do not think “normally”, to sit down and think it all through, as opposed to merely “ur stupid” (in lieu of disagreement with the subject matter) or “^THIS” (selfishly adding nothing to the conversation, beyond inserting oneself into it, like a toddler) - i.e. I am so glad that neither you nor I are fully “normal”, if that is what that means.

While I am reading those, here is a clip of Jon Stewart’s take on the issue… from 9 years in the past: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmCKZYKsiGM.
