The San Jose City Council has voted to permanently shut down a section of San Pedro Street downtown to cars.

With a new vote Tuesday, San Pedro Street will become San Jose’s first permanent pedestrian mall in 52 years

    For anyone that isn’t familiar with this street, it’s one block length of the street. It was only used to drive into a parking garage which can be accessed on the other side of the block, and closing it must have like a 0.1% negative impact on traffic.
