minus-square@[email protected]linkfedilink3•2 years agoMy first exposure to internet email (discounting BBS’s and fido->internet gateways) was through CompuServe. They charged for access by the minute but there was no per message fee. Everything was covered by the usage billing.
I remember hearing about it but have not experienced it myself but certainly remember SMS charged per message.
