Indeed. Finland and Sweden’s accession to NATO has made Kaliningrad obsolete, it’s now a complete waste of Russia’s resources trying to keep it fortified. I’m hoping that visits like this one are Putin signalling “don’t worry, I’m going to keep on wasting those resources here!”
