Predatory interests on loans are bullshit and should be erased. The credit system was invented in 1989 to insure predatory lenders while screwing average folk out of their money. That should be erased.
But the basic concept of “we work out a deal where I pay in chunks for an amenity only a wealthy person could afford outright” is fine. It’s how society keeps itself afloat in a flawed capitalist system.

Ok but let me take out an enormous loan before we erase them
So I should save most of my life before buying a house then?
You should have the right to a house.
And who will build it? I have the right to their labor too?
The government, of course! Right before giving it to you free of charge because why not?
