Justin Mohn has “been ranting and railing about the government for 10 years now and how they’re out to get him,” a childhood friend told NBC News.

The man accused of killing his father and displaying his decapitated head in a macabre YouTube video has long been obsessed with conspiracy theories, say those who knew him.

Justin Mohn, 32, was arrested on charges of first-degree murder and other counts after his father, Michael Mohn, was found beheaded in their family home in Middletown Township’s Levittown section Tuesday evening, court records show.

In a video that was removed by YouTube hours after it was posted Tuesday, the younger Mohn described his father as a federal employee of 20 years and referred to him as a traitor to his country. He also called for the death of all federal officials while allegedly displaying his father’s head.

“We’re all just in shock right now,” John Prickett, 68, who lives down the block from the Mohn residence, said Wednesday.

Not necessarily. Some are just indoctrinated. Don’t attribute to malice what can be attributed to ignorance. Ignorance is very common, and is actually a solvable problem.

    Though very difficult.

These people like Fox because it validates their hate, prejudice and resentment. People are always assholes first and turn into conservatives for validation of their assholery, not the other way round.

This is just an absolutist stereotype. The world is more complicated than that, as usual. If you’re really capable of solid critical thinking, you should know better than to throw around “always”.

While it can feel good to think you understand how all the people work, it’s a bit of a fools errand.

For one thing, it depends on which Fox programs they watch. Tucker is one thing. The business news is another.

Anyone with a modicum of critical thinking skills and/or empathy will be turned off by the constant stream of bile these people are spewing. And “bUt tHe bUsInEsS nEwS iS GoDd” is really the dumbest take I’ve ever heard. Yeah sure, the rich getting richer is great and the poor only have themselves to blame. Of course. Right.

I understand being angry, but try to remember that if you really want the world to get better, it’s about talking to people, and trying to get through to them. This requires a more nuanced understanding, first.

Unless you just want war and chaos, in which case, well, that’s just trolling. You can’t bully people into changing though. Were you ever bullied, and did you simply cave to the bullying?

if you watch Fox News at all, you don’t understand much of anything, except yourself

I do agree that watching Fox will not actually improve one’s understanding of the real world much at all.

this is correct… they are rotten on the inside, and they are only capable of spreading more rot… they are gangrenous… dead on the inside…
