    No matter how much murder hobo Baldurs Gate 3 was exposed to, they never had this kind of message to say the game was unplayable. I guess they just care more than Bethesda about adding flexibility to the narrative.

      Uh huh, Morrowind was released over 20 years ago and there was still work arounds for some of the key characters. Not like in BG3 you can just walk to a living god’s temple from the start if you really want to and kill them. There are very strict chapters and roadblocks in BG3 to make sure you don’t completely throw off the story.

      Comparing a two decade old open world sandbox RPG to a modern CRPG is disingenuous. I get the internet’s hobby is Bethesda bashing and certainly deserved with recent releases but back then that shit was still pretty new. Not to mention Morrowind was a sizeable leap forward for it’s age.

      Sure, instead of a message like this, they just keep the essential people inaccessible. And the one time you can kill someone essential, it just gives you game over.

      Just a different form of keeping you on the path of the story, but it’s still accomplishing the same thing
