Teachers describe a deterioration in behaviour and attitudes that has proved to be fertile terrain for misogynistic influencers

“As soon as I mention feminism, you can feel the shift in the room; they’re shuffling in their seats.” Mike Nicholson holds workshops with teenage boys about the challenges of impending manhood. Standing up for the sisterhood, it seems, is the last thing on their minds.

When Nicholson says he is a feminist himself, “I can see them look at me, like, ‘I used to like you.’”

Once Nicholson, whose programme is called Progressive Masculinity, unpacks the fact that feminism means equal rights and opportunities for women, many of the boys with whom he works are won over.

“A lot of it is bred from misunderstanding and how the word is smeared,” he says.

But he is battling against what he calls a “dominance-based model” of masculinity. “These old-fashioned, regressive ideas are having a renaissance, through your masculinity influencers – your grifters, like Andrew Tate.”

      That is a lie.

      This is what you said:

And you know the saying “apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” yeah? It may explain the bullying.

The saying “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” means the child behaves like the parent. So you were saying she was bullied because she behaved like I do. Which is blaming her for the bullying.

I don’t know why you’re telling such a ridiculous lie when everyone can read what you wrote.

That saying implies that the child has no control over the fact they are like their parents. I implied this when I said I’m not selfish enough to have children.

Ah, I see, so she intentionally acts like me and that’s why it’s her fault that she was bullied.

          Still sounds like victim-blaming.

Back from outside. So you spent all day here wasting your time with internet strangers? Does your daughter’s friends know this because she will be bullied for it

I see, you got tired of saying my daughter deserved to be bullied and went back to insulting me instead.

Speaking from experience you are the cause of your daughter’s problems

I was bullied because my parents are not very good. People I know who were bullied also dont have good parents. Just another anecdote though

Just wondering, do you think it’s ok to spend all day on lemmy when you have a kid? My dad never gave me an ounce of his time growing up and it led to issues for me.

Sorry, too late to blame me now. You already blamed my daughter for her bullying. Twice.

And I’m not answering your questions while you continue to lie about what you said.
