What are some things you’d call dated? Genuine curiosity, it’s been a while since I saw some episodes.

I’d just say the general outlook of the show is a very white male point of view. It’s still a good show but you can tell it was made in a specific period because of the conversations

The main character is a white male…why wouldn’t it strongly feature his point of view?

Not at all what I meant. All of the characters regardless of their gender or ethnicity are coming from that point of view. Again still a good show and I am a white male but it’s a bit tone deaf on some things I would expect someone as smart as House to be aware of, and they likely would’ve included that were the show made today and not 2003

Huh. Cutty and foreman in particular really openly disagree with…almost everything house opines on, and call him out often. Infact even other white males like Wilson are pretty clear they find his speech and actions inappropriate

            Edit: did I lie?

And yet House keeps his job and continues practicing despite his constant extremely inappropriate conduct.

“You’re fired for inappropriate medical conduct, illegal activity (breaking and entering, etc.), substance abuse, harassment, and littering.”

Show ends after the pilot episode. Is that what you’re looking for?

I mean I’d also take him undergoing some actual improvement as a person, but sure that would be better than him constantly getting away with being a horrible person and it being hand-waved with “he’s just too good to lose” never mind how badly he would tank the reputation of the hospital and would be more of a liability than an asset even with his talent.

Oh but that’s not nearly as dramatic as prescribing Santa cigarettes for the shits, or letting a minor teenager get pre-sexual with him. The audience must have their fix! ARE THEY NOT ENTERTAINED‽

A couple of other characters complaining means absolutely nothing when the main character is constantly rewarded for his behaviour by the narrative.

Again, he’s the main character. I already addressed that. Not uncommon for the narrative to both reward, and challenge the main character.

Most episodes featuring queer people, to start. There’s an episode that portrays asexuality as a medical problem that can be cured for example. The intersex episode is another one that leaves a very bad taste in the mouth for a variety of reasons.
