A while back I built this custom electron case. I should probably use it more than I do right now but it’s a lot of fun.

Not really, it has no battery power. So it’s portable in the sense that you can carry it and bring it somewhere else but you still need to plug it in.

There would be but after trying over 10 different ones I couldn’t find anything that was reliable. Most of them that had enough juice even charged through the same port as they provided power. So it wasn’t convenient enough.

The goal of this case wasn’t to go make music on the beach (there’s more portable gear for that) but rather visit a friend or do a show at work. So the added power plug is a huge benefit.

Recently I did a train trip to London from Berlin with a Digitakt, a Ripcord, and a Varta 15k mAh power bank. Played music basically the entire way.

Yeah I have battery powered them as wel. But using two powerbanks (because 1 couldn’t deal with 2 devices) inside the case and charging them separately wasn’t appealing to me. So I went with the plug-in one after all.

I must test whether the Varta powerbanks can give enough ampage to power two…

Let me know when you do because I’ve tested over 10 and none of them could handle the power surge when booting the devices.

Tested. The answer to that question is a definite no 😁

As soon as I turn on the 2nd Digi the first one starts blinking on and off and the second one doesn’t even get going.
